Nathan has served on staff at FBCI since May 2000. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and spent his entire childhood growing up in a Christian home. He was always involved in his local church playing the piano and being active in the music ministry. After moving to Florida at age 18, God really began to open doors for Him to reach people – Christians and non-Christians alike for His glory. It was at this time in His life where he felt called to go into full-time Christian ministry.

Nathan says, "I'm so thankful to be a part of a church that understands what true heart-felt worship is. There is nothing like coming to a place every week where you know God will show up. I wouldn't trade it for the world." While he finds great joy in serving in the capacity of the music ministry, he also enjoys assisting other ministries in the church such as Children, Youth, and Singles. In addition, Nathan is able to share his talent as he teaches private piano lessons in his spare time.

Nathan and his lovely wife, Lauren, were married in April 2003 and are enjoying their lives together in the peace and quiet of Wilmington Island. Lauren teaches kindergarten at Savannah Christian Preparatory School and also has a heart for ministry. While actively serving at FBCI, she finds her joy in the children’s ministry.

Nathan considers it an awesome privilege to serve at First Baptist of the Islands and considers each and every member as a friend and part of his family.
