Jay Howard was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. His wife, Erin, is also a Savannah native and they have been happily married for eleven years. They have three children: Katlyn, Hannah, and Joshua.

God has been very good to Jay. He was blessed to be raised by wonderful Christian parents and grandparents. During his time as a child he attended Daniel Baptist Church, where his grandfather was the Pastor. It was during this time in his life that Jay accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at age seven. His grandfather not only led him to the Lord, but also had the privilege of baptizing him.

Over the years, God has placed Jay and his family in many different places - all to grow and prepare them for what the future held. Jay and his family began to attend Immanuel Baptist Church in 1998, where they served faithfully for about four years. God then began to guide the family in another direction to serve. In February of 2003, Jay and his family were led to First Baptist Church of the Islands. Jay says, "We immediately knew this was the place that God would have us serve from the first time we came in the door. This is our home."

Jay is a part of the FBCI Choir and his passion is to sing for God's glory and to worship Him through music. In addition to singing in the choir, Jay also serves in the Children's Ministry, and other ministries in the church. He and Erin are also active in their Sunday School Class. "I'm so thankful to be in a church where not only I can grow and serve, but where my wife and children can grow in their walks with Christ as well."
