I have heard so many great comments concerning Covenant Event Sunday this past Sunday, May 4th!  It was an awesome time of worship as our choir raised the roof and then to see the response of our folks was tremendous!  So many people worked hard to make Covenant Event Sunday what it was and God really, really blessed.  If you stayed for the catered meal after the service, then I know you had a great time . . . it was one of those moments when you think, "We need to do this more often!"

As always, God gets all the glory for that great day.  However, it would certainly be appropriate to thank the many, many people who plugged in and made a huge difference!  Our Beyond Measure Leadership Team has gone above and beyond, along with many others who came alongside, as well.

I imagine you may be wondering when we will know the specific amount which was pledged.  The total covenants to date will be announced on First Fruits Sunday in our May 18th Sunday services.  That Sunday will also be our first day to give for the building project. 

On Celebration Sunday, May 25th, we will announce the totals to date again and then also the total of the first day of giving.  Plan to be here for these exciting days and also be sure to turn in your covenant card if you have not already done so.  More details can be found by accessing "Beyond Measure" right here on our website. 

Just this past weekend, God used His Word to speak encouragement to my heart as Suzy and I prepared to solidify our covenant concerning what we would give for the Beyond Measure campaign.  As I had my quiet time, God spoke to my heart in Psalm 34:9-10: "O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.  The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing."  What a great time of the Lord reminding us of His faithfulness to His people when we simply obey!  Just before that passage, verse 8 reads, "O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"  It dawned on me later how sad it would be for those who chose not to take Beyond Measure seriously, who chose to give (or not) based only on their human perspective rather than in response to God's leading, who chose to tip God rather than truly obey . . . how sad that would be because those individuals and families would fail to taste and see the Lord and His faithfulness.   

Plan to be here Sunday for Mother's Day as we honor our Moms . . . it should be great and I plan to see you there!
