Need Him?

Archived Pastor's Letter

3/19/2008

This Sunday is finally Easter Sunday!  We are expecting 800-1000 people on Sunday, many of whom we must pray will come to meet and know Jesus personally beginning on that very day.  We will begin Revival services on Easter Sunday, as well, with Jamey Ragle preaching and Jeff Slaughter leading us in worship.  We have had these Revival services scheduled for almost two years and I must say that they are coming at a perfect time.  Not only must we pray for many to come to know Christ but that God would also draw Christians to a deeper walk with Himself.  Invite someone to be here on Easter and pray for God to do a work that will last forever in their life!

Our next semester of DIVE begins the Sunday evening after Easter (March 30) at 6:00pm.  We have another great lineup of classes designed to lead those who know Christ to continue forward and grow in Him.  Be sure to check out the lineup and sign up for a class as soon as possible.

This week has been busy with a lot happening in relation to our Beyond Measure Capital Giving Campaign.  May 4 will be the big day as we come together to offer our pledges to the Lord for the 3-year campaign.  This giving will enable us to expand our Preschool Ministry space with a new building, add Student Ministry space with a new building, renovate new Office and Administrative space in a different location on campus, and add Entry/Welcome Center space in a new building.  God will do the work through His people, so be sure to be praying for His wisdom as to the roles you will fill.

This past Sunday was interesting in that the power outages of Saturday evening which spanned into Sunday morning were almost unprecedented.  Coupled with the fact that many had skipped town to get away from the St. Patrick's Day Parade madness, we had what will likely be the least attended services of the year.  "Why so interesting?", you may ask.  Because it was the day we had set aside for an emphasis on prayer in our church . . . now tell me the enemy doesn't want God's people calling consistently to Him in prayer!!  If you were not here on Sunday, be sure to pick up one of the 14-Day Devotional Guides which were handed out and begin your exciting two week journey on Sunday.

I am already fired up about Easter getting here on Sunday and seeing what God does!  Be in prayer, invite someone to come to FBCI for Easter, and come with a heart that is ready for God to do His work in your life!  See you Sunday!
