This has been a great week for seeing God's work being done here at First Baptist Church of the Islands! I love it when the Lord does what is needed to provide encouragement and affirmation and He has done just that for me this week! I am so thankful that God is a personal God who knows our needs and works in our lives on a personal level. One of the things we discussed in our Wednesday evening service was the vital need to walk by faith rather than by sight. The Christian life is a life of faith and we miss so much when we choose to walk according to what we can see rather than in response to the leadership of God in our lives. God's desire is to reveal His will to us so that we can glorify Him through our obedience as we walk in His will. So, the key is not that we wait for proof but rather that we understand God's leading and then follow where He leads us. Our Covenant Event is getting closer and closer. May 4th will prove to be a huge day in the life and history of this church as we covenant with God on that day as to what we will pledge over the next three years to give to the Beyond Measure campaign. Imagine the impact our giving will make in the years ahead as preschoolers, youth, and others will benefit by greater capacity to be exposed to the Gospel and the teaching of God's life-changing Word! NOW is the time to be praying concerning what God would have for you and your family to commit to give . . . remember that it's all about His leading and our obedience. His faithfulness is not open for debate but has been proven through the ages, so we must take Him at His word, trust Him, and follow! I hope you enjoy Him this week as you walk in His will in every detail of your life! See you on Sunday! Pastor Brooks |
